[origin: WO2020035230A1] The invention relates to a thread milling tool (10) for producing a screw thread. The thread milling tool (10) has a tool holder (12) made of hard metal extending along the center axis (14), and has a first slot-shaped cutting plate receptacle (18a), which is provided with two side contact surfaces (24, 28) located opposite one another, and a base contact surface (32) arranged between the two side contact surfaces (24, 28) and extending transversely thereto, which forms a base of the first slot-shaped cutting-plate receptacle (18a). The thread-milling tool (10) is further has a first cutting plate (20a) made of CVD thick-film diamond, which is fastened in the first cutting-plate receptacle (18a) in a cohesive manner. The first cutting plate (20a) comprises a main body (21) having two lateral surfaces (22, 26) located opposite each other, which rest against the two side contact surfaces (24, 28) of the first cutting plate receptacle (18a), or are cohesively connected thereto, and having a lower side (30), which is arranged between the two later surfaces (22, 26) and extends transversely thereto, which rests against the base contact surface (32) of the first cutting plate receptacle (18a), or is cohesively connected thereto. The first cutting plate (20a) has at least one cutting tooth (23), which protrudes outwardly from the main body across the first cutting plate receptacle (18a), having two main cutting edges (36, 38) for producing two mutually opposite flanks of the thread.
