[origin: WO2019233717A1] The invention relates to a device for treating containers (2) filled with foamable liquid filling material. Firstly, the invention relates to a device for treating containers filled with foamable liquid filling material. The device comprises a foaming unit (10), a closing unit (7) downstream in the transport direction, and an ejection unit (15) downstream thereof. Also, a foaming unit (10) is designed to effect foaming of the filling material. This is followed by an optoelectrical monitoring unit (12, 14) with which the foam formation in the containers and/or the fill level of liquid filling material in the container can be monitored using at least one first monitoring criterion (ÜW1) during and/or after closing. The optoelectrical sensor unit (12.1, 12.2) and the monitoring unit (14) are designed for monitoring the foam formation on a container outer wall and/or the fill level of liquid filling material in the container during and/or after closing of the containers. The ejection station is designed to eject containers which lie outside a target range of the at least one first monitoring criterion in terms of the foam formation, prompted by a signal delivered by the monitoring unit.
