[origin: WO2020048654A1] The invention relates to a door handle assembly (3) for a motor vehicle (2), having a handle support (10), a handle (4), and a base (11) which is mounted on the handle support (10) and can be moved relative to the handle support (10) and on which the handle (4) is mounted in a relatively movable manner with respect to the base (11). The handle (4) can assume at least one rest position and a handling position, in which the handle (4) is deployed in a deployment direction (12) relative to the exterior (7) of the vehicle door (2) in order to be actuated when installed into a vehicle door (2). The base (11) is designed to be movable on the handle support (10) from a rest position, in which the handle (4) is arranged in its rest position, into a working position, in which the handle (4) is arranged in its handling position. A mass compensating element (52) is additionally mounted on the base (11) movably mounted on the handle support (10) and is designed to block a movement of the handle (4) out of the rest position in the event of an inertial force acting on the handle (4) in a vehicle accident.
