[origin: WO2020001800A1] The invention relates to a handling and/or packaging apparatus (10) and to a method for the secondary packaging of article groups. The apparatus (10) according to the invention comprises a conveyor section (12) for transporting a plurality of articles (13) in mass flow (26) and/or in series transport in a defined conveying direction (16) and a second conveying section (18), located close to the first conveying section (12) and/or extending parallel thereto, for successive transporting of secondary packaging (19), which are each provided and prepared for receiving one article group formed from a plurality of articles (13). Moreover, the apparatus (10) comprises a handling device (22) associated with the conveying sections (12, 18), having at least one gripper head (24), which is provided and designed for simultaneously receiving and capturing one article group each from the first conveyor section (12), for transferring the article group to the second conveying section (18) and for inserting the article group into one of the secondary packagings (19) conveyed there. An activatable and/or controllable retaining device (40) is associated with the second conveying section (18), whereby the at least one secondary packaging (19), equipped with articles (13), can be retained, at least in phases, before and/or during the inserting of the article group, relative to leading secondary packagings (19) and/or those already equipped with articles (13), and/or can be delayed relative to the transport speed of the leading secondary packagings (19).
