[origin: WO2020001763A1] The invention relates to a lateral protection system for a flat roof, comprising a mounting plate and a gripping module. The mounting plate has a stop face, and the stop face has at least one recess. The mounting plate can be attached to a body by means of a recess, the mounting plate further comprising an abutment face and a slot. The gripping module comprises a contact face and a hook portion. The hook portion of the gripping module can be introduced into the slot in the mounting plate by means of a pushing and turning movement, such that the mounting plate can be connected to the gripping module in such a way that the abutment face of the mounting plate is substantially aligned with the contact face of the gripping module, a first axis of rotation of a rotation of the pushing and turning movement being oriented substantially parallel to the stop face of the mounting plate and to the contact face of the gripping module.
