Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2020002548A1] The invention relates to a logistics tag (1) and a method for operating the logistics tag, more particularly a tag and/or beacon, for logistics systems, comprising a short-range radio interface (2) for short-range communication, a long-range radio interface (3) for long-range communication, and a control unit (4) for controlling the logistics tag (1). According to the invention, the control unit (4) is configured such that an event for switching between the short-range radio interface (2) and the long-range radio interface (3) can be recognised by said unit, and that, if a corresponding event occurs, the control unit (4) can switch between communication by means of the short-range radio interface (2) and communication by means of the long-range radio interface (3), such that communication occurs via the short-range radio interface (2), or via the long-range radio interface (3). Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for selecting a leader from a local group of logistic tags (1), in which the leader of the local group is determined from the local group of logistics tags (1). According to the invention, the logistics tags (1) exchange data packets via a short-range radio interface (2) for short-range communication, on the basis of which data packets the leader is selected. Moreover, at least one logistics tag (1) transmits the selected leader to a network via a long-range radio interface (3) for long-range communication.
