The laundry contained in the laundry drum is attached to the rotating laundry drum at an attachment rotational speed. The control device is configured to activate the drum drive during a second operating mode in order to rotate the laundry drum at a second rotational speed when the weight of the laundry detected by the weight detection device exceeds the weight limit value, the second rotational speed being greater than the contact rotational speed of the laundry drum.
