It is proposed that a contamination of the ambient air in the train station (1), including with solid, liquid or gaseous materials is to be reduced. For this purpose, the train station (1) comprises an ambient air cleaning assembly for cleaning the ambient air having at least one filter unit (10) for separating solid, liquid or gaseous ambient air contaminants, in particular fine dusts, out of the ambient air. The transport route (5) is designed as a vehicle tunnel (7) and the train station (1) has an enclosed area (2) in which the public waiting area (3) for people (4) to wait in is arranged.
