[origin: WO2020025137A1] The invention relates to: a method for producing an extract from English daisies (Bellis perennis), comprising: a) providing a material to perform extraction on, produced from English daisies; b) performing extraction on the material to perform extraction on by means of an aqueous solvent in order to obtain an extract; an extract obtainable by said method; a composition comprising an extract obtainable by said method; and the use of said extract as a food supplement and/or drug, in particularly for reducing blood sugar peaks and/or for inhibiting intestinal glucose reabsorption and/or for weight reduction, and for use in the treatment or prophylaxis of diabetes mellitus and/or hyperglycemia and/or obesity.
