[origin: WO2020035637A1] The invention relates to a method for determining the energy potential of a roof of a building for locating the areas most favourable to the installation of photovoltaic or thermal panels, characterised in that it consists of: - preparing the digital terrain model (DTM); - calculating the footprint of the building; - measuring the slopes and orientations of the roofs of the building; - determining the solar irradiation and the shadows close to the roofs of the building; - locating the areas of the roofs of the building which receive the highest energy potential.
