[origin: US2021180895A1] Charging handles for firearms, particularly gas-powered rifles. The disclosed charging handles can be operated on both sides of the firearm and include a shaft having with lateral widening at both sides. The charging handle includes an active handle, a passive handle, and a latch, where the active handle is rotatable about a pin and is urged into a fixing position by at least one spring, such that when the active handle is rotated against the spring force, the latch is released. The passive handle is configured so that when the passive handle is rotated, the passive handle also rotates the active handle. In order to relieve the pin, the release position of the active handle is defined by a support surface on the lateral widening of the shaft. The passive handle is configured analogously.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Spannschieber für einen bestehenden, gasbetriebenen Karabiner, insbesondere des Typs AR15 oder des Typs M4. Er ist beidseits zu bedienen und weist einen Schaft (2) auf, dessen Endabschnitt (24) beiderseits eine seitliche Verbreiterung aufweist, an der, um einen Stift (26) drehbar und von zumindest einer Feder (33, 43) in eine Fixierposition gedrängt, ein aktiver Griff (3) mit einem Arretierfortsatz (37) und ein passiver Griff (4) angeordnet sind. Beim Verdrehen des aktiven Griffs gegen die Federkraft kommt der Arretierfortsatz frei, beim Verdrehen des passiven Griffs verdreht er den aktiven Griff ebenfalls.Zur Entlastung des Stiftes (26) ist vorgesehen, dass die Freigabeposition des ersten Griffes durch eine Abstützfläche (29) an der seitlichen Verbreiterung definiert wird, an der in der Freigabeposition eine interne Anschlagfläche (38) des aktiven Griffes (3) zur direkten Kraftübertragung anliegt; für den passiven Griff gilt dies mutatis mutandis.
