[origin: WO2020038534A2] The invention relates to a rim system with a central locking system, having: a wheel rim with a first front rim flange and a second rear rim flange facing toward the vehicle; a rim base extending therebetween and a rim spoke system having multiple spokes or a rim plate; and means for central mounting on a motor vehicle at the inside diameter of the rim spoke system or the rim plate, wherein the wheel rim, according to the invention, has a hybrid design and means for centrally mounting the wheel rim on a motor vehicle are formed on the metal hub element or wherein the wheel rim can be connected to the motor vehicle by means of an adapter element which can be operatively connected to the metal hub element, wherein, as required, a safety system for the wheel rim is provided with which a central nut which is screwed onto an external thread of a rim receptacle of the adapter element is captively held and/or wherein, as required, the adapter element is in the form of an adapter cooling element with a cooling arrangement.
