Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren, ein Computerprogramm und ein System zum Betreiben einer handgehaltenen, computergesteuerten Kolbenhubpipette sowie eine entsprechende Kolbenhubpipette, sowie ein mit dieser zusammenwirkendes Datenverarbeitungsgerät, wobei mittels einer Sequenz von Vorbenetzungen der Pipettenspitze ein präzises Pipettieren von Flüssigkeiten mit höherem Dampfdruck als Wasser ermöglicht wird.
