[origin: WO2020057973A1] The invention relates to a measuring system and to a method for determining wear of a brake lining (6) of a friction brake, wherein a wear element (11), the wear of which is detected as representative of the brake lining (6) or by which wear of the brake lining (6) is detected, is integrated into the brake lining (6). The measuring system comprises a permanent magnet (13) and a magnetic field sensor which are arranged in a ferromagnetic core (16) in a closed first magnetic circuit, and the wear element (11) is ferromagnetic and is designed in such a way that a second magnetic circuit leads through the wear element (11) and the permanent magnet (13).
