[origin: WO2020056440A1] The invention relates to a component (6) having a metal main body (7) and protective layer (8) arranged thereon, the protective layer (8) being formed in a number of layers, at least comprising a first oxidic layer (9) and a second layer (10) forming oxides having a spinel structure, the first oxidic layer (9) being arranged closer to the metal main body (7) than the second layer (10) forming oxides having a spinel structure. The first, oxidic layer (9) contains a metal oxide of a metal of the group of the rare earths and/or a metal alloy oxide which contains at least one element from the group of rare earths.
