[origin: WO2020058773A1] A scheme for facilitating network connectivity and baseband coordination in a split architecture fronthaul network (102) comprising a plurality of cells (118-1 to 118-5, 120-1 to 120-5) and one or more BBU hubs (108A, 108B), each hub comprising at least a BBU (110-N, 112-M). A BBU overlapping traffic data structure generated (754) based on per-BBU cell allocation data and cell overlapping data with respect to a particular E-RAN feature pertaining to the fronthaul network (102) is used in generating a sorted list of candidate BBU partnerships. An iterative process (758) is executed for sequentially selecting BBU partnerships from the sorted list to generate a coordination set (CS) of BBU partners (712) for each BBU. Responsive thereto, appropriate control message communications are effectuated (762) among the BBU partners for facilitating one or more KPIs in the fronthaul (102) with respect to the particular E-RAN feature.
