Abstract (en)
The invention relates to a delivery system (100) adapted for delivery and for deployment of a self-expanding structure such as a stent (200) or a heart valve prosthesis, comprising an inner shaft (110) and an outer shaft (120), optionally further comprising a capsule (121), arranged around the inner shaft (110), the delivery system (100) being configured to receive a self-expanding structure (200) between the inner shaft (110) and the outer shaft (120) and/or the capsule (121) in a compressed / crimped state, and a cooling means (300) for cooling the self-expanding structure (200) to a desired temperature, thereby facilitating recapture of the self-expanding structure (200) between the inner shaft (110) and the outer shaft (120) and/or the capsule (121), wherein the delivery system (100) comprises a connecting means (140) for releasably fixing the self-expanding structure (200) to the delivery system (100) wherein the connecting means (140) itself is coolable by the cooling means (300) such as a cooling device.
