[origin: WO2020064510A1] The invention relates to a method for controlling a maintenance mode of an elevator system (1). The method has the steps of: automatically detecting a machine-detectable feature (7) by means of a portable computer-controlled device (5), such as a smartphone for example, of a technician (13); in response thereto, outputting a maintenance termination signal, wherein the machine-detectable feature (7) is stored within the elevator system (1) such that the feature can only be detected by a computer-controlled device (5) located outside of an elevator shaft (15) of the elevator system (1), and the machine-detectable feature (7) is uniquely assigned to the elevator system (1); receiving the maintenance termination signal by means of an elevator controller (9) which controls the maintenance mode; and in response thereto, terminating the maintenance mode. By using the proposed method and an elevator control assembly (3) configured to carry out same, a maintenance mode in the elevator system (1) can be terminated easily, intuitively, and reliably by a technician (13) without significantly needing to provide additional hardware for this purpose.
