An apparatus according to the invention has: a light source unit (110) for emitting a plurality of optical signals, each at a time-variable frequency, wherein the light source unit (110) has a plurality of lasers; an evaluation device for determining a distance of the object on the basis of measurement signals originating from the optical signals and being reflected or scattered by the object, and on the basis of reference signals that are not reflected or scattered by the object; and a dispersive scanning device (130) which causes a frequency-selective deflection of the measurement signals that are directed towards the object.
