[origin: WO2020070200A1] The invention concerns an ergonomic storage unit (1a) comprising: - at least one stowable container (100); and - a mechanism (11) configured to move the at least one stowable container (100) between two positions: - a stowed position in which the stowable container (100) is stored in the storage unit (1a); and - an ergonomic position in which the stowable container (100) is positioned in front of the storage unit (1a) and at a height different to the stowed position, such that the stowable container (100) is in a position that is more accessible, in terms of height, than the stowed position; the mechanism (11) being configured to support the weight of the stowable container (100) by distributing it to either side of the mechanism (11) across the width of the stowable container (100), thus providing lateral access to the stowable container (100), in the ergonomic position.
