[origin: WO2020074385A1] The invention relates to a steering gear (7) for a steer-by-wire steering system (1) of a motor vehicle, comprising a coupling rod (16), which is mounted in a steering gear housing (8) and on which a leadscrew (12) is formed, which is surrounded by a leadscrew nut (11), said leadscrew and leadscrew nut being part of a screw drive (10), wherein: the coupling rod (16) can be translated along the longitudinal axis (100) by means of the screw drive (10); the coupling rod (16) is mounted in the steering gear housing (8) by means of a plain bearing (19) such that the coupling rod can slide along a longitudinal axis (100); and the plain bearing (19) is designed to compensate thermal expansions between the steering gear housing (8) and the leadscrew nut (11).
