[origin: EP3866133A1] An output module (1) for a fire alarm system is provided. The output module (1) comprises an indicator device (3) for indicating the presence of a possible emergency and an output driver (2) for controlling operation of the indicator device (3). The output driver (2) includes sensing apparatus (6) for measuring electrical properties of the output module (1). A method of installing the output module (1) in a fire alarm system and a method of using the output module (1) when installed in a fire alarm system are also provided.
