Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2020115301A1] The invention relates to a step drill (10) having a distal end (12) and an opposite, proximal end (14), having a drill tip (16), which, at the distal end (12) of the step drill (10), has a tip (32) with two geometrically defined main lips (16a, 16b), to each of which a flute (36, 38) is assigned, and having at least one first countersink step (18), which is arranged at a distance from the distal end (12) and has a number of geometrically defined lips (18a to 30a), to each of which a flute (36, 38) is assigned. According to the invention, the lips (24a, 24b to 30a, 30b) of a countersink step (24 to 30), said lips being arranged adjacently in the circumferential direction, are configured such that the profile of the distance of a lip (24a, 24b to 30a, 30b) from a longitudinal axis of the step drill differs between adjacent lips (24a, 24b to 30a, 30b) from the distal end of the step drill in the direction of the proximal end, wherein one of the adjacent lips forms a roughing lip (24a to 30a) and the other lip forms a finishing lip (24b to 30b).
