Abstract (en)

A wind turbine (100) is described. The wind turbine (100) comprises a wind rotor (101) and a generator (108), mechanically coupled to the wind rotor (101). The wind turbine (100) is configured to operate in a first mode of operation and in a second mode of operation, wherein, in the second mode of operation, the wind rotor (101) is oriented in an opposite direction relative to a wind direction (104) compared with the first mode of operation. The generator (108) of the wind turbine (101) is configured to generate power both in the first mode of operation and in the second mode of operation. Furthermore, a corresponding method of operating a wind turbine (100) is described.
