The invention further relates to a brush, comprising a carrier body (20) of this type and comprising a bristle insert (10), which is fastened in the carrier body (20), the bristle insert (10) comprising two wire portions twisted together, which clamp a plurality of bristles between said wire portions in a bristle section (12) and form an anchoring section (14) in a section free of bristles, which anchoring section is received in the carrier body (20) and fastened there, characterized in that the anchoring section (14) comprises a bending section (16; 17), in which the anchoring section runs in at least one direction deviating from the longitudinal direction, and that the anchoring section (14) is embedded in the material of the carrier body (20) in such a way that more than 50% of the cross-section of the anchoring section (14) is below the level of the embedding surface (30).
