Bei einer Spinnmaschine mit einer Vielzahl nebeneinander angeordneter Spinnstellen (3) weist jede Spinnstelle (3) eine Speisevorrichtung (13) für einen Faserverband (7) auf. Den Spinnstellen (3) sind Trageeinrichtungen für den Faserverband (7) zugeordnet. Eine Ansetzvorrichtung (4) für den Faserverband (7) umfasst zumindest einen Bandaufnehmer (5) zum Erfassen und Aufnehmen eines Anfangs des Faserverbandes (7) und eine Zuführvorrichtung (6) zum Zuführen des Anfangs des Faserverbandes (7) zu der Speisevorrichtung (13). Die Ansetzvorrichtung (4) mit dem Bandaufnehmer (5) und der Zuführvorrichtung (6) ist zumindest teilweise stationär an der Spinnmaschine (1), vorzugsweise an jeder Spinnstelle (3), angeordnet und ist einer einzelnen Spinnstelle (3) oder einer Gruppe von Spinnstellen (3) zugeordnet.
