Abstract (en)
A method for controlling the formation of frost in cooling units of refrigeration systems which comprise at least one heat exchange battery (2) equipped with a fan (3) and defrosting devices for the heat exchange surfaces, in which the defrosting cycle is automatically started upon reaching predetermined threshold values of the air flow rate at the fan (3), or of the air pressure in said cooling unit (1). The method has the main advantage of automatically determining the moment when it is necessary to start the defrosting cycle, thus avoiding starting the system in the absence of frost formation.
