[origin: WO2020099499A1] The invention relates to an apparatus for attaching an object (30, 32) to a support (34), said apparatus comprising: a main body (10), upper and lower dies (12, 14) adapted to deform said object (32, 34), at least one of said dies being movable relative to said main body to approach the other die, a force limiting means (36) adapted to limit the force (F2) applied for moving said movable die to a predetermined value, and measuring means (16, 20; 18, 22) adapted to measure the position of the movable die relative to said main body and/or relative to said other die. According to the invention, a monitoring means (24) is adapted to receive an output signal of said measuring means (16, 20; 18, 22) and to perform at least one of the following: a) permanently monitoring the position of said movable die (12, 14) relative to said main body (10) and/or to said other die, during a process of attaching said object (32, 34) to said support (34), b) storing said monitored position in at least one predetermined moment during the attaching process, c) determining in at least one predetermined moment during the attaching process whether the distance between said upper and lower dies (12, 14) is below a lower limit, and d) determining in at least one predetermined moment during the attaching process whether the distance between said upper and lower dies (12, 14) is beyond an upper limit. Moreover, the invention refers to a method for attaching an object to a support.
