[origin: WO2020098864A1] The invention relates to a motor vehicle lock (1), in particular a tail-gate lock, comprising: a locking mechanism (2) consisting substantially of a rotary latch (3) and at least one pawl (4, 5); a release lever (6), the locking mechanism (2) being unlocked by means of said release lever (6); and a biasing element, wherein the pawl (4) can be held in a biasing position, once the locking mechanism (2) has been unlocked, at least indirectly by means of the biasing element, and the release lever (6) can be locked in position by means of a spring element (7), thus preventing the engagement of the pawl (4) in the rotary latch (3).
