A heat-not-burn smoking article includes: a tobacco-containing segment containing tobacco and an aerosol former; a tubular cooling segment having one or more perforations on the perimeter; and a filter segment, where the filter segment includes a filler, an inner plug wrapper that is wrapped around the filler, and an outer plug wrapper that is wrapped around the inner plug wrapper; and at least either the inner plug wrapper or the outer plug wrapper is a paper having a basis weight of 40 g/m<sup>2</sup> or more and a thickness of 100 µm or more.
