[origin: WO2020104188A1] The invention relates to a contact unit (16) for a charging system for electrically driven vehicles, in particular passenger vehicles, trucks, buses or the like, and to a charging system. The charging system comprises a charging contact device and a contact device comprising a contact unit support, said contact unit support having the contact unit. A charging contact of the charging contact device can be contacted using the contact unit in order to form a contact pair. The contact unit has a contact element (19) made of metal, and the contact unit has a connection line (20) for connecting to the vehicle or the charging station. The contact element has a contact bump (21), and the contact bump forms a contact surface (22) for contacting the charging contact. The contact element is at least partly made of a contact piece (23) made of carbon in the region of the contact surface.
