The film source is configured to receive a lower film supply roll and provide a lower film web unwound from the lower film supply roll. The conveying device is configured to convey the lower film web from the film source to the forming station and further to the sealing station. The film source comprises a holding mandrel for receiving thereon the lower film supply roll and a film storage device configured for accommodating a variable length of the lower film web and regulating a film tension of the lower film web. The holding mandrel and the film storage device are arranged one above the other in a vertical direction.

Die Tiefziehverpackungsmaschine (1) umfasst eine Folienquelle (3), eine Formstation (7), eine Siegelstation (9) und eine Transporteinrichtung (15). Die Folienquelle (3) nimmt eine Unterfolien-Vorratsrolle (25) auf und stellt eine von der Unterfolien-Vorratsrolle (25) abgerollte Unterfolienbahn (5) bereit. Die Transporteinrichtung (15) fördert die Unterfolienbahn (5) von der Folienquelle (3) zu der Formstation (7) und weiter zu der Siegelstation (9). Die Folienquelle (3) umfasst einen Aufnahmedorn (23) zum Aufnehmen der Unterfolien-Vorratsrolle (25) und einen Folienspeicher (29), welcher dazu konfiguriert ist, eine variable Länge der Unterfolienbahn (5) aufzunehmen und eine Folienspannung der Unterfolienbahn (5) zu regulieren. Der Aufnahmedorn (23) und der Folienspeicher (29) sind vertikal übereinander angeordnet.
