[origin: CA3121102A1] The invention relates to a separating device for separating a fastening element from a strip of fastening elements, having: a receptacle, in which the fastening element is received, the fastening element defining a fastening direction in which the fastening element is intended to be driven into a substrate; a transport channel for transporting the strip of fastening elements in a transport direction, the transport channel having a separating section; and a stop element, which has a stop position, in which the stop element protrudes into the transport channel and forms a stop, in the transport direction, for the fastening element when the fastening element is arranged in the separating section, and a pass-through position, in which the stop element is arranged outside the transport channel and permits a movement of the fastening element, in the transport direction, beyond the separating section.
