[origin: CA3119861A1] The invention relates to a method for regenerating an at least partially spent catalyst originating from a hydrotreatment process, the at least partially spent catalyst originating from a fresh catalyst comprising a metal from the group VIII (in particular, Co), a metal from the group VIB (in particular, Mo), an oxide carrier, and optionally phosphorus, the at least partially spent catalyst further comprising carbon in an amount between 2 and 20% by weight relative to the total weight of the at least partially spent catalyst and sulfur in an amount between 1 and 8% by weight relative to the total weight of the at least partially spent catalyst, the method comprising the following steps: a) bringing the spent catalyst into contact with an impregnating solution containing a compound comprising a group VIB metal, b) performing a drying step at a temperature below 200°C.
