[origin: CA3180989A1] The invention relates to an apparatus for removing the husk from grain, in particular as a laboratory or small-scale peeler of grain kernels, and for producing dehusked grain seeds, which apparatus has a peeling device (4) comprising a first disc (40) and a second disc (42) which is movable relative to the first disc (40) and can be driven about a vertical swivel pin (44). The discs (40; 42) enclose, between their main faces having a surface made of a thermally stable and elastic material, a working chamber which can be filled with grain from the side opposite the second disc (42) through a filling opening (78) in the first disc (40) in the region of the centre point thereof. By rotation of the second disc (42) the kernel and husk of the grain can be separated by a radial movement along the discs (40; 42), so that the kernel and the husk of the grain leave the peeling device (4) on the outer circumference thereof via an outlet opening (46) which opens via a chute (48) into a collecting bin (24), the chute (48) having a lateral air inlet opening (52) which is supplied with an air stream so that the husks laterally leave the chute (58) upstream of the collecting bin (24).
