[origin: WO2020146038A1] A handlebar system; the system provides a multi-functional handlebar component for a cycle or similar vehicle. Embodiments of the system include a housing containing a battery, a handlebar mount configured to attach to the cycle, a subcomponent housing; an energy storage module mechanically coupled to the subcomponent housing; a user interface fixed to the subcomponent housing, and including a speaker, a microphone, and at least one manual input, said user interface adapted to communicate a command from a user; a communication module fixed to the subcomponent housing and electrically coupled to the energy storage module, the communication module including a transceiver electrically coupled to the energy storage module, said transceiver configured to wirelessly communicate with at least one external communication network; and a memory electrically coupled to the energy storage module.
