[origin: WO2020144081A1] The invention relates to a universal decentralized building automation device, also known as a smart home device, and to a method for implementing a decentralized building automation network. The devices according to the invention are used to control devices and building technology in the context of building automation. The device according to the invention has a housing and a display and comprises the components of at least one sensor, at least one actuator, and at least one computing unit, wherein the components are arranged in the housing and are thus combined in one device, and the device is functional without connecting to a central gateway or network device. The device is designed to be assembled in a flush-mounted socket or as a replacement device for a wall thermostat and has a power supply unit or a voltage converter.
