[origin: WO2021228489A1] The invention relates to a drill rod coupling with a sleeve-shaped coupling receiving area, a pin-shaped coupling element which is designed to be axially pluggable into the coupling receiving area in order to form a rotationally fixed connection, and at least one locking bolt which is oriented transversely to the axial coupling direction and which extends from the coupling receiving area into a locking receiving area on the coupling element in a locked coupling position. According to the invention, the locking bolt is mounted on the sleeve-shaped coupling receiving area in a radially adjustable manner between an unlocking position and a locking position by means of a gravity-based adjustment mechanism, the adjustment mechanism has at least one movable actuator that can be moved between a lower pushed-in position, in which the locking bolt is pushed into the locking position, and an upper retracted position, in which the locking bolt is retracted out of the locking receiving area into the unlocking position, and the actuator is held in the lower pushed-in position under the force of gravity.
