[origin: WO2020148008A1] The invention relates to an applicator (100) for the application of a microarray (22). The applicator (100) comprises a housing (104) and a plunger-type element (102) that can move within said housing (104) to accelerate the microarray (22). The applicator (100) additionally comprises a target force trigger (110), and said target force trigger (110) secures the plunger-type element (102) in relation to the housing (104) and releases the movement thereof when the target force is applied. The invention also relates to an application system (1000) for application of a microarray (22), comprising such an applicator (100) and a microarray (22) or a microarray receiving portion (10), preferably connected to a microarray receiving portion cluster (60), having a microarray (22). The microarray (22) or the microarray receiving portion (10) are arranged relative to the applicator (100) and/or connected to the applicator (100) such that the plunger-type element (102) is able to apply the microarray (22).
