The opposite edge 24 of the core may be exposed. The insulating block may be formed from polystyrene and the panels from geopolymer concrete. The insulation core may include ridges or profiles 26, 27 for connecting to adjacent blocks. The panels may be attached to the core using adhesive, fastening rods or pins. The core may include at least one bore for receiving a tie bar or fastening rod. Also claimed is a system of building construction consisting of assembling a wall using said building elements.
