Ein Verriegelungs- und/oder Positionierantrieb für ein Fenster, eine Tür oder dergleichen umfasst ein Gehäuse, eine im Gehäuse angeordnete motorische Antriebseinheit mit zugeordnetem Getriebe und ein durch die motorische Antriebseinheit mit zugeordnetem Getriebe beaufschlagbares Abtriebselement. Dabei besitzen das Gehäuse und das Abtriebselement jeweils eine längliche Form. Das längliche Abtriebselement erstreckt sich parallel zur Längsachse des Gehäuses über dessen gesamte Länge durch dieses hindurch. Das Abtriebselement ist über die motorische Antriebseinheit mit zugeordnetem Getriebe in beide Längsrichtungen antreibbar, wobei die beiden Enden des Abtriebselements jeweils mit einer Schubstange oder einem Schubstangenelement koppelbar sind.
