[origin: WO2020156974A1] In welding tongs (1) comprising: - a first and a second electrode arm (2A, 2B) each having a first and a second electrode (3A, 3B) secured to the electrode arm (2A, 2B); - at least one drive means (4), by which the first and the second electrode arm (2A, 2B) are displaceable relative to one another from an open position into a closed position and vice versa; - a guide means (5), via which the course of the displacement of the electrode arms (2A, 2B) relative to one another is defined, the guide means (5) has a first and a second slotted link means (6, 8) which are displaceable relative to one another, and the first and the second slotted link means (6, 8) are arranged between the first and second electrode arms (2A, 2B) for controlling the course of the displacement.
