[origin: WO2020157058A1] A pane unit (10) is disclosed, which comprises a frame construction (12) formed from a plurality of profiles (14), at least two outer panes (16, 16') and at least one central pane (18), wherein the panes are each connected on and/or to the frame construction (12). The pane unit (10) further comprises at least one functional element (20) for illuminating the at least one central pane (18), said functional element being inserted into at least one chamber (24) provided in the profiles (14). According to the invention, the plurality of profiles (14) are coupled to one another by means of at least one connection element (28), the at least one connection element (28) engaging with the profiles (14) such that the pane unit (10) is hermetically sealed.
