Abstract (en)
[origin: GB2581380A] A sole construction 10 for use in a high heel shoe comprises at least a first skeleton sole 11, such as an insole, formed from a composite material such as carbon fibre. The skeleton sole 11 is shaped so as to define one or more recesses 16 generally centrally therein and has lasting allowances 15 defined around its perimeter to receive edges of a shoe upper. A second like skeleton sole may underlie the first skeleton sole 11. At least one of the skeleton soles may include strengthening ribs defined centrally therein, the height of which may be substantially equal to the depth of the recesses 16. Also disclosed is a high heel shoe including the sole assembly 10. The enhanced strength, rigidity and flexibility of the sole construction 10 may allow for the use of several interchangeable heel constructions with different heights.
