Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2020164910A1] The invention relates to a use of small-volume product containers in injection appliances for nominally large-volume product containers. According to the invention, a modular syringe holder comprises an adapter (14) and an adapter holder (15), different from a housing of the injection appliance, for holding a ready-to-use syringe in a syringe unit of the injection appliance. The adapter has a hollow-cylindrical, rigid adapter body (14c) and, mounted movably thereon, an at least radially deflectable bearing element (14a) for a syringe shoulder of the ready-to-use syringe. The adapter is designed for insertion of the ready-to-use syringe, with deflection of the bearing element by a needle guard cap of the ready-to-use syringe. The adapter holder is designed to receive the adapter, such that the bearing element is thus blocked, by a holding portion (15b) of the adapter holder, against radial deflection or shearing in a holding position in engagement with the syringe shoulder. After adapter and product container have been received in the adapter holder, a flexible shoulder-bearing element for diverting axial forces of a product container is thus secured, by the adapter holder itself, against lateral deflection.
