[origin: GB2581387A] Disclosed is a pump comprised of two plates mounted parallel and separated, an outer member surrounding at least one flexible member with a spiral form which is perpendicular to the plates, with the flexible member forming at least one wall of a channel extending from an inlet to an outlet of the pump, a driving member which causes the flexible member to move such that the channel becomes wider and narrower at different points, the narrowest point forming a constriction which drives fluid before it from the inlet to the outlet. The flexible member may form both walls of the channel. There may be multiple flexible spirals with respective inlets. The spiral member may become thinner or more flexible from the outer extreme towards the centre. The driving member may rotate in an offset circular orbit to create the narrow and wide points of the flexible member.
