[origin: CN113817907A] The invention relates to a method for press hardening a thermoformable slab (1) made of steel, comprising the following method steps: passing a bare, uncoated slab (1) through a heating zone (3) and heating to an austenitizing temperature, preventing oxygen ingress during heating to the austenitizing temperature, removing the slab (1) from the slab (1), cooling the slab (1) thus heated to a temperature below the austenitizing temperature but above the martensite starting temperature without oxygen ingress (intermediate cooling) (4), then introducing the slab (1) into a hot forming tool (5) within several seconds, removing formed and press-quenched in the tool (5), and the formed slab (1) from the tool and storing elsewhere.
