[origin: WO2020169462A1] The invention relates to a one-piece feeder body for use as a feeder insert or as a component of a two-part or multipart feeder insert while casting metals, comprising a feeder wall which at least partly delimits a feeder cavity for receiving molten metal, wherein the feeder wall has an inner surface facing the feeder cavity, an outer surface for contacting a molding material which surrounds some regions of the feeder body, and a through-opening for the molten metal into the feeder cavity, and the feeder wall has one, two, or more material recesses on the inner face in order to form one or more protrusions projecting outwards on the metal which is hardened within the feeder cavity.
