[origin: WO2020193074A1] The invention relates to a method (1) for monitoring the operating state of an energy supply network, in which a data processing cloud (2) is connected to a number of selected communication units (4) at a query time via long-range communication connections (3), and each selected communication unit (4) transmits measured values and/or values derived from the measured values to the data processing cloud (2) via one of the long-range communication connections (3), wherein, in order to receive the measured values and/or the values derived therefrom, each communication unit (4) is connected, via a short-range communication connection, to at least one sensor which, in order to capture the measured values, is arranged on or in a high-voltage device (5) of the energy supply network, and the data processing cloud (2) determines the operating state of the energy supply network within the scope of an analysis on the basis of the measured values and/or the values derived from the measured values. In order to provide a simple and cost-effective analysis of the operating state of the entire energy supply network, it is proposed that the data processing cloud (2) during the analysis takes into account the measured values and/or the values derived from the measured values which come from at least two selected communication units (4) set up at different locations.
