[origin: WO2020178134A1] The invention relates to a method for detecting particular characteristic cells in a sample, comprising the following steps: a) providing a sample of cell suspension 1; b) carrying out a first lysis (2) on the sample (1) so that a first lysate (4) of the sample (1) is formed, the lysis proceeding such that cell nuclei of the cells of cell suspension 1 remain intact; c) extracting the ribonucleic acids (RNA) that are freely available in the first lysate (4); d) identifying the extracted ribonucleic acids in order to determine the number of different types of ribonucleic acids in the sample lysate; e) carrying out a second lysis (3) on the remaining sample (1) so that a second lysate (5) of the sample (1) is formed, the lysis proceeding such that cell nuclei of cells in the sample (1) are destroyed; f) extracting the deoxyribonucleic acids (DNA) that are freely available in the second lysate (5); g) calculating a total number of cells in the sample by means of the number of deoxyribonucleic acids; and h) calculating the number of cells with individual cell markers in the sample by means of the number of different types of ribonucleic acids identified in step d) and the total number of cells calculated in step g).
